Memories are timeless treasures of the heart♥
This beautiful old pine tree, located on our families property for over 50 years is a wonderful childhood memory.
There are many memories that we will forever treasure. The rope swing that hung from her sturdy branches and felt the laughter and joy from many children. Her coat of bark supported tree carvings from young sweethearts and teenagers just leaving their mark. She felt the tug of little feet climbing her branches and remained strong through some cold, harsh winters.
This tree sadly passed last winter, and we were instructed by the Placer County to cut her down. The trunk of the tree remains, and we have placed a memorial plaque dedicated to my grandmother on top of the tree trunk. She loved all the beauty that surrounded our families property, especially this old pine tree.
This past summer we noticed something remarkable, the tree stump had taken on the shape of a heart. It is now more than ever a constant reminder that memories and loved ones will always be with us.
Log Designed to Table in 3 Easy Steps:
STEP 1: An electric hand planer was used to remove the chainsaw marks.
STEP 2: A disk sander was used to contour the edges and to smooth the log table top.
STEP 3: Clear Watco oil was used to seal the surface of the log.
The total time to create this sweet beauty was less than an hour, and the project cost was $7.00 for the Watco oil. Oh, and did I mention, there is plenty of oils left over for future DIY projects.
